What is the easiest transportation between Eisenach and Dresden, Germany on a weekend? The train takes roughly 5 hours and multiple transfers. I found a Berlin Linien Bus route that also takes about 5 hours. Are there any other alternatives? Thanks, everyone, for your help.

Depends on the date. For Sunday, May 19, the schedule shows a 5h16m connection at 10:13 using a bus "SEV" (Schienen Ersatz Verkehr, train replacement bus), they are working on the tracks and busing you around). For Sundays after that, I see direct ICE connections in 3 hours, ±.

My reading of the Deutsche Bahn schedule shows hourly direct train service between Eisenach and Dresden. 3 hour journey.

I see 3 hour trips on weekdays, but not on a Sunday when I need transportation. Am I misreading the schedule?

Well as luck would have it, I'm traveling on May 19 so I guess track repairs are the problem. I found the Berlin Linien Bus. Is there any other good option? Thanks for everyone's help.
