Hi I wanted to purchase tickets for Aug 16,2013 for the Eiffel Tower with access to the summit but http://ticket.toureiffel.fr/ shows as sold out. Can any one please help and tell me where else I can buy tickets in advance to avoid the long lines.
tickets for my date in August are also sold out. Do you need to wait in line for tickets if you are willing to walk to the 2nd level? Then, do you need another ticket to get to the top?
Leti, they have tickets available on that date for 10, 10:30 and 11 in the evening. The view from the second level is great, don't stress about not getting to top. Yes, you can purchase tickets to the top once you are on the second level. You also have some natives.. you can climb the stairs. The lines are never as long as the lines for the elevators, and the stairs are fine for most healthy people to do , they are wide enough that people can pass you if you are tired so you don't have to race up, and the view is interesting going up that way. Another thing you can do is book an " Behind the Scenes " tour, a bit more money but you do get to skip the line. Otherwise arrive 45 minutes to an hour or so before it opens and get in line.
Harriet yes there is a separate line for the stairs, but my experience is that its a much shorter line, I think I waited 20 minutes for the stairs when the line for the elevator was about 2 hrs.. if you can take stairs do it, its fun in a way too. Tickets for the top can be purchased on second level, yes, there is a line there too but its shorter then the ones on the ground because people who purchased tickets on the ground for the top already did when they were on the ground.
They have tickets for that late in the evening for my dates also but I think we will walk up - and take the elevator down. However, it looks like you cannot buy the tickets to walk the stairs in advance. Does anyone know how to do that?
Great information! Thanks Pat and Harriet.
Sorry harriet you cannot buy tickets for stairs in advance , only walk up.
Hi Leti, Just my two cents. We were just in Paris a few weeks ago. We went to the Eiffel Tower at around 11a, and the lines were awful (we had read it was a bad time of day, but assumed that was only for the elevators). Even for the stairs, we waited for a long time. We went to the Eiffel Tower later in the evening for a bike tour (around 6:30p), and the line for the stairs had disappeared. So, my advice is go right away in the morning or later. Don't go mid-day. Once we got to the 2nd floor, we had to wait in another line for the top. It stays light so late, so you could still have excellent views even later. Good luck!
Becky
Hi I have bought 12 extra tickets to the eiffel tower on the 2nd of June 4.30pm. I don't know what to do with it since it is non-refundable nor I couldn't change the dates. I wanted to sell the tickets to the tourists on the spot but would an ID check be required? PS since it is summer now, what time does the sun sets in Paris? I would like to buy new tickets on the spot but I don't know what is the best time to go up the tower to view the sunset?
Id check is not required . Selling them is your only chance to make money back, but may be tricky, people may not trust they are legitimate especially since you bought TWELVE tickets by accident! lol I suggest you also be sure not to charge more then you paid or you could be in trouble for scalping them.
