I would love to take the twilight ride up the eiffel tower summit. Looks like the sunsets at around 930-940pm. What time do you recommend that we get to the entrance of the tower taking into consideration waiting times? We don't have advanced tickets unfortunately. I would love to see the sunset and then stay until it gets dark when the lights come on.

My wife and I went to the Eiffel Tower on April 16 around 2 p.m. and the lines were short. It took about 20 minutes to get our tickets (we didn't have advance tickets either) and then about 20 minutes to get on the elevator at the base. I understand that the lines increase a lot after May 1, so you may want to give yourself at least 45 minutes to an hour for each part (ticket line and elevator line). Remember, once you get up the Eiffel Tower, you can stay as long as you want.
