Eiffel Tower Restaurant Altitude 95 what gives??

Can anyone confirm whether or not Altitude 95 will be closed for the winter beginning in November? I tried to go to the website to make a reservation for my parents, husband, and I to have thanksgiving dinner and I saw a message indicating the restaurant will be closed Nov. 1 then info. about March 2009??? Any suggestions as to where we can enjoy a nice family thanksgiving dinner? It doesn't have to be traditional food, just something delicious to remember our Parisian Thanksgiving! Thank you!

Since American Thanksgiving is a holiday only in America, you should have no trouble finding a restaurant open in Paris on a Thursday evening in November. Finding turkey and dressing might be a problem though.

As Swan said, all the restaurants in Paris should be open on Thanksgiving day.
Why would you expect to find Thanksgiving traditional food in Paris?

Their website says they are closed from November 1st until March 2009. So I guess you will be out of luck for dinner there.

I think Michelle said she doesn't expect to find traditional American thanksgiving dinner in Paris -- she just wants to find out if Altitude 95 is open that day and taking reservations. I imagine the official website is the place to start, but perhaps someone has recent practical information for her? Is this restaurant being re-modeled right now?

Actually, some hotels that cater to large amounts of Americans, whether for business or tourists, may offer a Thanksgiving dinner. Some of them do here in Frankfurt so that may be the case in Paris too. Or restaurants that are American style - We have several here, run by expats, and they often offer a Thanksgiving meal. I wouldn't write it off completely. Paris does have its share of American expats living there. Try googling American restaurants in Paris and see what comes up. Or check out the big American chain hotels like Hilton, Sheraton, or Marriott.

After reading my post I understand why there is some confusion as to what I meant by a Parisian thanksgiving, poor choice of words on my part, my apologies for the confusion. Of course I know that Thanksgiving is an American Holiday and did not expect Turkey and dressing in Paris. I meant for my parents and I, we would be spending our Amercian holiday in Paris and would still like to celebrate the occassion with a nice Parisian meal, thus Parisian Thanksgiving. My husband and I have been to Paris before but this will be a first for my parents so I was trying to do something memorable, since the Eiffel Tower is a Paris icon I thought eating there would be a special night out for my parents. Any other suggestions as to where we can dine, within a reasonable budget? Thank you all! :)

Fantastic Mary! We may have to go the traditional route since we're running out of time to explore other options but if you think of a nice Paris restaurant within a low-moderate budget range please let me know. Thank you for the suggestion!
