I was wondering if people recommend lunch or dinner at Altitude 95 in the Eiffel Tower or to just skip it. With the US dollar so low right now against the Euro, is it worth the cost for the experience? Does it save time in the line for the Eiffel Tower and can you go to the top after your meal or do you have to go back down and wait in line again? Would you go during the day or after dark? I appreciate all your suggestions very much.
I made reservations for June about a month ago. It's less expensive of the two restaurants in the Eiffel Tower. It's just very expensive, not the 155 Euro menu restaurant, Jules Verne. I research it quite a bit before making reservations. You get to go to the front of the line and go to the first floor. Jules Verne is on the second floor and has a dedicated elevator. For Altitude 95, the cost of the elevator ride is not included. Once you're finished with your meal, then you can get in line to go to the second & third floors. We going for dinner. There are quite a few companies that sell packaged tours - Dinner at Altitude 95 and the Seine River cruise or the Moulin Rouge show. I found some information on Trip Advisor. I'm not expecting great food.
We are going the first week of May to Altitude 95 for lunch. We are staying with friends (Americans) who are living in Paris (7the) and they recommended it (and made reservations for us). We are planning on bringing our two young children too. We will report back....and make sure we are on the dressier side that day too I guess!
My sister and I did the cruise and dinner at Altitude 95. The food was surprisingly good. I was expecting tourist trap - but the food was good. And really - if you go to the restaurant - you can say you had dinner at the Eiffel Tower. The cruise and the dinner combined cost about 100 bucks - but that was last year in early March (when Paris was freezing).
