From reading, I'm understanding that the lines are even longer than usual for the lifts due to closures. I've seen people suggest to go right as the tower opens in the morning to beat the lines. We'll be in Paris in August, and there are tickets on-line available for 9AM on the days we will be there. If I ordered such tix ahead of time and showed up a bit before 9AM, would I effectively be able to avoid waiting for hours? Thanks for any advice!
The only problem I see with ordering tickets to the ET ahead of time is what happens if you get there on your appointed day and it is storming? I have gone up there twice and one of those times we waited a day for the weather to improve.
Good luck and enjoy the view. Some folks prefer to go up just before dusk to see the sights in daylight and then watch the city light up.
I did the pre-ticket and yes - made sure to hit the day to dusk time frame - which is amazing. I took my son on his first day ever in Europe and it was worth the jet lagged effort to get there and then by-pass the lines and go straight in. After all you spend on airfare, why waste that time in line?
And chances are it won't storm too often.
we're in Paris in late September and our plan is also the daytime-dusk-dark experience. We'll have our laptop with us, so theoretically we'll be able to book tickets last minute if needed. But I wonder, how close is too close?
Hi. At the end of my junior high school year in France (late June 2010), I went with my family. We bought the tickets a day or so in advance and it did save on the wait in line time. As for storms, a storm did come up while we were at the top, all we did was walk indoors and it went by quickly. Then we were back out.
The storm was pretty awesome to see.
DK you will likely not be able to book tickets last minute. They only allow so many per time slot. Once they are gone they are gone. September is still very popular month, so will still be busy at peak times , at least when weather is good.
