Eiffel Tower Help!

We will be in France in 2 weeks and although I should know better I didn't book my tickets to Eiffel Tower. The only thing my 11 year old wants to see. I want to go at night so will we be able to take the stairs to second level and then buy tickets to top? How long will the line be for stairs? How many stairs are we talking about? (hubby has torn achilles ) Thanks.

You may need to just wait in line...like we all used to have to do :-( Be sure to be on the ground at the top of the hour during nighttime hours to see the Tower twinkling!!!

Val - Yes, you will be able to stand in line for the stairs and then buy tickets to the top (as long as the top is open, sometimes weather impacts that). It's hard to say how long the line will be for the stairs, but you can count on it being much shorter than the line for the elevators. Not sure how easy they will be with a torn achilles... We had terrible timing and went mid-morning without tickets and stood in line 2 hours for elevator tickets. It wasn't so bad, and worth it to cross it off our list. Probably towards the evening the lines will be shorter? Have fun (and yes, be sure to watch at the top of the hour when the whole tower twinkles, your daughter will love it)!

Or you could join an organized tour, pay what the French call 'la peau de fesses", and bypass the line that way.

Torn achilles and 300+ steps to each level don't mix. Look into Fat Tire skip the line tours, they get good reviews. Have fun!

Does hubby care if he goes up, if not, you and daughter just go and do stairs, your hubby if not interested in going can have some time to himself. Also check hours for stairs, not sure they are same as elevators.
