Eiffel Tower

I am trying to buy tickets online for late May, 2013 and it won't let me proceed past page 2. It asks the country, and doesn't show USA, Canada or England. I tried to pick a listed country and then my mobile phone (which for some reason is required, but I am not taking) and then it refuses me. Is anyone having problems with the website: WWW.tour-eiffel.fr

I can't answer all your questions, but a quick look at the site shows that, even if you choose English, it lists countries in French. So, the US is Etats-Unis, and United Kingdom is Royaume Uni. However, Canada is Canada in French too, so I'm not sure that will fix your problem. If entering a US mobile phone, use the format +1-212-555-1212, or 001-212-555-1212; again, I didn't get that far, so I don't know if the site accepts the dashes, or if you have to omit them.

Thank you Harold! That was it! USA = "Etats-Unis" and the phone number is 001xxxxxxxxxx (no dashes). I printed my tickets and set to go!

Yes, there is something wrong with parts of the website. Some things are showing up only in French. From the main page http://www.tour-eiffel.fr/ click TICKETS at the top. It is in an orange box. In the middle of the page that loads after that, there is another orange box that says "Buy your Eiffel Tower tickets". Click there. On the left at the top it says "choose a ticket" If you want to go all the way to the top, you are good. If you only want to go to the 2nd floor, click the option below it and it will highlight orange. Choose the date in the pull down menu below the orange box. Avril is April, Mai is May. When our date is chose, go to the next section below and choose how many. That will take you to a spot to choose your time. Most dates are sold out or close to it through June 13. If there is a red circle with an x in it, there are no tickets left for that time. I bought my tickets for May 22 the day they came available and when I checked 2 days later, half of the times were sold out. Tickets are not yet available from June 14 onward. If you select a time that is green and continue on to buy tickets, Etats-Unis is USA. Find that in the pull down menu to register and enter your number area code first with no dashes. If you have trouble entering your credit card at the end, try entering it with no dashes as well. It took me easily 20 tries to finally get it to take payment once I got through everything else. Hopefully that helps.

Deb: I'm glad it worked. I remember another poster recently had very similar issues with the Versailles website. It seems that, even though they have an "English" option, they didn't actually create a whole separate English language site, but are using some form of automated translation; hence, not everything gets translated.
