I have been to the Eiffel tower before but never went up into it....when would be the best time to go in order to avoid lines?
After dark, a couple of hours before it closes. That's also the best views.
Hi Suzanne, you can pre-book before you leave home at: http://ticket.toureiffel.fr/index-css5-sete-pg1-lgen.html You can book up to 4 months prior; and you pick your time! Jean
I purchased the passes in the USA before going and printed them on my printer. Easy and saves you a lot of time. This allowed us to eat near the tower at Rue Cler which is only a short walk away. I found that getting there near the end of daylight is a fantastic experience as you do want to see everything while it is light and then enjoy the twilight. For a few minutes the Tower lights up like a Xmas Tree. I thought that we would do this fairly quickly, but being there in person can't be fairly described in print or pictures. There are a lot of peddlers, but I gave one guy a take it or leave it of 5 bucks for a foot tall Tower to take back to the US and eventually he said yes. It felt great to bother them for a change. It sounds corny, but there really is something magical about the Eiffel Tower in person.
