I read a previous post that someone bought a ticket to the Eiffel Tower restaurant, went in had a salad and a beer and was able to go right up via the elevator. Does anyone know if this information is correct? I'm going on a spur of the moment trip to Paris, Nice and Barcelona with a dear friend and haven't had much time to plan. Also any suggestions for restaurants(not$$$)would be greatly appreciated!
There are two restaurants in the Eiffel Tower...only one has private elevator access, the pricey Jules Verne....you won't be getting a salad and beer there. The other restaurant, the 58 Tour Eiffel, is on the first floor, and only takes bookings for two dinner sessions, so lunchtime crowds can't book ahead and won't get a priority spot on the elevator. That MAY occur for the two dinner bookings....but those dinners are very expensive as well. Besides, being on the first level, going to the restaurant means you still have to get to the second floor, which is where the elevator to the top is located.
