eating near Gare de Lyon

We will have about 4.5 hrs between arrival at CDG airport and leaving Gare de Lyon on the TGV for the south of France. We'll probably take the shuttle directly between the two, but depending on how long it takes to clear customs, etc, we may not have much time for lunch in Paris. Our first choice will be to ditch our bags in the lockers at GdL and take the metro to Bastille or St Paul for one of the places in Rick's book. And, worse case, we eat at the train station or onboard. But in case our available time falls in between, are there any restaurants in close proximity to the train station that anyone would recommend for lunch ON A SUNDAY? Also, I've been trying to find an online map of the Gare de Lyon layout so we'd know where everything is, but no luck at raileurope or SNCF or RATP sites so far. Anyone know where to look?

There are many restaurants and hotels in the Gare de Lyon area. Just walk out the back door. Parisians like to eat lunch out on Sundays, so I would expect most eateries to be open. There is a range of food services within the train station; you won't have to go hungry. I can't say whether there is a place to stow luggage there. Of course, if you find yourselves short on time, you can easily pick up sandwiches, etc. at the train station for take-out to eat on the train.

Hello Diane, there is a baggage locker at Gare de Lyon, but it can be a challenge to find even with the signs. I would ask directions. You have to go through security check when you enter the room with the lockers. As mentioned earlier, there are plenty of restaurants just outside of the Gare.

Hi Diane, this is a follow-on to my previous post about baggage lockers at Gare de Lyon. It is downstairs, but not as you come to the end of the platform. There are stairs going down there and that is where we lost a lot of time trying to find the lockers. When you come to the end of the platform after exiting the train, turn right, go to the last platform (A, I think) turn right (you should be walking with the building wall on your left and track on your right) and go back up the platform to nearly the end of the building. There are stairs down and the room with the lockers are down there.
