Eating in Spain

I will be in Spain for two weeks and I am trying to calculate how much I will spend on eating. I do not plan on eating in fancy restaurants ( maybe one or twice ). Does anybody have an idea?

Spain is not unlike other western european countries. Lunch will run around 6-8 euros for a sandwich. Dinner can obviously range, but the average is 8-15 euros. There is a lot of great food in Barcelona, I suggest local dives!

Much will depend on where and what you eat. If you shop at open markets and do a picnic sandwich, you will probably spend roughly €2-4. If you look for a "menu" (generally, two dishes, drink and desert) you will probably spend somewhere between €6-12. Supper prices will depend on the quality of the restaurant, and will range from €9-???. However, for more specific information, you will need to provide an itinerary. As a general rule, if driving through the country, look for truck stops in "Poligono Industrial" (industrial parks). The service won't be elegant, but on a bang for you buck level, you'll get a better deal than anyplace else.
