We're looking for a place to have a good dinner in the 7th or 6th arrondisement in Paris. We have 3 boys, ages 6-12, who are quite well behaved ... but they're still kids and would be happier eating within an hour rather than dining on a more typical 2 hour French meal. We'd like to find something wiht modern French cuisine (i.e., lighter) rather than the older style of cooking. Any suggestions in the 6th or 7th?

It can be hard - but try any of the Hippopotamus restaurants. They have classics but also will have a hamburger and chicken breast.
There is one at Montparnasse (blvd Montparnasse - near the Metro). They server continuously so you would not have to wait until 8pm to be served and would fit into the kids schedules a bit more.
We go to Paris fairly often and my teenage son loves eating at the Hilton Hotel near the Eiffel Tower. They have a nice restaurant with good food, both French and American. Service is as fast as you want it to be. Prices are very decent. They make the best hamburgers we have ever had anywhere.

Hi Joy,
The above web site is Tom's Guide to Paris. When you have the home page on your screen, click on the topic "Eating!". Lots of good suggestions.
bon appétit! ... P.
