Easter in Germany and travel to Germany via Luxembourg airport

I'm going to Trier in Germany for a festival that happens to be over the Easter weekend. My hotel is bed and breakfast only and I'm worried about food. Will all/most food shops or restaurants be shut on Good Friday / Easter Day / Easter Monday? Or will the fact that there's a big event going on in the town persuade them to open if they'd usually close?

Also, I'm flying into Luxembourg airport which is closest to Trier. It's a bit of a stretch but has anyone here used the Luxembourg Airport-Trier minibus shuttle service?

Yes, the stores will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Restaurants will be open on all of those days, though some may be closed on Good Friday, especially bar type places and it is common that music is not played in restaurants, etc. on Good Friday either.

Shopping will be big on the Saturday!

Thanks Jo. It's probably lazy to ask this, but is Trier mostly Catholic or Protestant?
