East Saint Gallen area accommodations

My family of four will be driving from Bergamo to Munich and would like to stay one night in Switzerland, perhaps in the lake area north and east of Saint Gallen. Any suggestions in the 100€ range?
Time frame will be mid-September with a weeknight stay.

Look into Flumserberg. It's not so much one distinct town, but a number of small hamlets spread across the slopes of a mountain. Unlike the well-known mountain towns in the Berner Oberland, you can drive up the mountain here and park your car right by the hotels. If you have young kids, the high altitude hiking is very family friendly. And I believe the Heidi books took place in this region, so it's sometimes advertised as "Heidi-land". I've stayed at Hotel Cafrida a few times, but I think the cost may be a little above your quoted price range. But man, those views from the rooms are unbeatable! "perhaps in the lake area" If you mean the Walensee, it's visible from certain perspectives around the Tannenbodenalp hamlet of Flumserberg, and of course, much higher up the mountain.
