We are staying on Rue Cler at Hotel Leveque and have a 9:30 am flight out of Beauvais Airport. We have our shuttle tickets paid for. We have to be at the bus stop a little before 6:30. How do you suggest we get there? I was going to reserve a taxi the night before but just read on another post that you can't do that now. Is a taxi a good idea or should we use the Metro? Two women with one carry on bag each.
Thanks
Taxi will be better with your baggage, you won't have to tire yourself out lugging your luggage on the Metro that morning, it will be a long enough day as it is. Ask the hotel to arrange for the taxi. Make sure to tell the hotel that you must be at the bus stop well before 6:30, I say well before because if you miss the shuttle bus you miss your flight (it's 50 miles and 90 minutes from Paris to Beauvais). For something like this, you want certainty.
If you leave your hotel at 5:30 am you should have plenty of time to use the Metro. However, I like the taxi idea better. There are times to take a cab, and I think this is one. I don't know where you catch the shuttle bus now. When I did this trip several years ago, I left my hotel at 6 am; I took the Metro out to the shuttle area west of central Paris, then had a hard time finding the buses. A taxi driver would probably know exactly where to drop you off.
The first train on Metro line 8 leaves Ecole Militaire at 05:37. If you take it to Concorde and transfer to Metro line 1, you'll be at Porte-Maillot just before 06:00.
Thanks everyone. This is the one thing of my three week trip I am stressing over the most. It really helps to hear from people who have done it and how it worked for you.
