Early flight out of Barcelona

We have a 6:55 am departure out of Barcelona terminal 1. Is two hours sufficient (or is the airport more like Rome --takes along time). Also any suggestions on getting a taxi at 4:15 am? Has anyone had any experience? Should we stay at airport hotel?

You should just take a cab from your hotel to the airport, we did that. Getting there two hours ahead is fine, just make sure you ask your hotel to book a cab for you before you go to sleep the last night.
