Dumb question London vs. Paris

I have a total of 5 full days to spend in London and Paris. I'll be traving w/my wife and even though we are not too much into visiting museum, we plan to visit 1 museum on each city.
First I was thinking 2 1/2 days each. (Flying to London then taking Eurostar to Paris mid-day on the third day) But the more I read I realize so much there is to see and cutting a day in half will just be a wasted day. Maybe I should leave late or very early in the morning to maximize the hours where I can do sightseeing)
I'm starting to think maybe I should do 2 full days London, 3 full days Paris.. or viceversa..
Any advice appreciated.
thanks

Assuming you are flying home from Paris, on the first day in London, I would take a hop on hop off bus and get a feel for the city. Then you can plan what sites you want to visit and spend more time at on the second day.
On the third day, I would take an early Eurostar to Paris. The train trip is fun, scenic and a unique experience -- so it's not a total waste of time.

Both cities are great, but I recommend spending more time in Paris over London.

Fernando, maximize your time in each city by taking the last Eurostar of the day to Paris, enabling you to start your first day in Paris bright & early in the morning. Besides, hotels in Paris are cheaper than in London, so 3 nights in Paris would cost you less than 3 nights in London.

You are trying to wring as much sightseeing time as you can out of your itinerary. So, use your time on the Eurostar as well as you can.

Pack a meal--breakfast, lunch, or dinner depending on when you travel--hearty enough to last until your next regular meal in Paris.

If you can get a copy of Periscope or similar publication in London, bring it, your guidebooks, and a newspaper with the latest weather forecast and use your time on the train to fine-tune your plans for Paris.

The trip takes a bite out of your day, but it's also time you can use.

Just one little note to help you -

Paris is one hour ahead of London - which is something to consider for your timing for maximizing your sightseeing. Although the trip is only 2hours 12 minutes station to station - you lose another time zone.

The latest train out of London is 8pm - which can be a difficult arrival after 11pm to get oriented to your hotel. But this will give you a full day in London and an early start in Paris - plus a taxis this time of night is great.
