Dry cleaners/laundry services in Paris, France

How prevalent are dry cleaners/laundry services in Paris, France? I am not interested in taking the time to do it myself as I intend on keeping myself busy doing other things. I am staying in the neighborhood near the Jardin des Plantes and the Paris Mosque.

They are just about as prevalent as in any big city in the USA, IMHO. But then, where we always stay, there's a dry cleaner (nettoyeur à sec) right across the street. I plugged Jardin des Plantes into google maps and found a number of listings that will probably be convenient for you. One is Pressing Le Luxembourg, at 83 Boulevard Saint-Michel. Looks like it is across from an RER stop, too. But that is just one of many. We sometimes use the hotel's concierge service to get cleaning done - but of course, that adds the cost of the hotel's service on top of the cost of the dry cleaning. And I have found dry cleaning to be scarily pricey in Paris. For a laundromat (laverie automatique) I did the same thing - found a self-service one at 113 Rue Monge. So, should be no problem to find one that's near your hotel!

We have stayed near the Pantheon and the Sorbonne. We found two self-service laundromats within a three or four block walk from our hotel. Most people don't like wasting their time in laundromats but I always find them interesting. It is fun to see who is doing laundry...locals or tourists or both. I realize doing your own laundry does take time from your schedule but you can rest, read your guidebooks, plan for the next day's activities, or write in your journal. In our travels around France, we have found only one place where the laundry was done for us but we didn't look very hard. At that laundry, the owners had spent a lot of money buying good machines and didn't want people abusing them. The laundry had become their new jobs in retirement. We don't like spending the extra money to have it done, unless we have to, because as I said, we enjoy the little bit of down time. Good luck!

Nothing opens to visit til at lest 10:00, so go do laundry at 8:00 and not miss a thing. Same for the evenings. Everything closes by 7 or 8:00. Go do laundry after that and do as suggested above, plan next day travels, write in journal, etc.
