My husband and I are planning a driving tour this summer of the bavarian lake area. On the cover of Frommer's Best Loved Driving Tours of Germany 8th edition is a photo of a highway that goes over a lake with mountains in the background. Does anyone know where that is ? It is breathtaking! We would love to drive it. Thanks, Dawn
Sorry, I can't help you on this one. But to all others: Here's the picture: http://www.amazon.com/Frommers-Germanys-Best-Loved-Driving-Tours/dp/0470226935/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1212662110&sr=8-1
Okay, I found it! It is the bridge over Lake Sylvenstein, Bavaria. I believe it is the B307 part of the German Alpine Road. The Lake is an artificial lake which creates hydroelectric power & also prevents flooding. Sure is gorgeous!
