About how much driving time should we allow from Munchen after seeing the BMW museum to Porsche/Benz museums in Stuttgart? Also, how much driving time from Stuttgart to the Swiss side of Lake Constance. Thanks.
Burt: Use this website to answer all of those questions: Click HereYou might want to increase those driving times a bit, especially if you don't have a GPS.
The German side of Lake Constance is much more exciting than the Swiss one, particularly since the view from the Swiss to the German side is totally boring whereas the view from Friedrichshafen or Lindau to the Swiss side is just breathtaking and quite unique! Driving time from downtown Munich to downtown Stuttgart is around 2 1/2 hours but it can be up to 4 hours as A8 is one of the bussiest Southern German freeways.

Hi Burt,
I just "computed" a trip myself - and was astounded by this web site. It works on trips worldwide, including München - Stuttgart. Gute Reise!P.
This does not have anything to do with driving between Munich and Stuttgart, but with the museums.
Porsche is small and won't really take all that much time. The new Benz museum is something where you can spend a good day. The BMW is also small.
I too would stay on the German side of Lake Constance as there you get the magnificent backdrop of Swiss and Austrian Alps. Lindau is a lovely little town where you can hop on a boat and take a day cruise up and down the lake.
