Driving/ Parking in Vienna

I keep reading about expensive parking in Vienna....What about street parking on Sundays? Arent they free. Is it possible to drive a car to all attractions and park close by on streets if it is a Sunday

Mala, in Vienna, we parked the car for the 4 days we we're there for free in the street in front of the appartment we rented. But it was not in the city center, it was near Schönbrunn castle. The metro in Vienna is very efficient and not expensive.
