We will be driving from Rothenburg ober Tauber to Beilstein in August. Google maps is giving me a choice between two routes; one on A6 & A61 or A3. Both are approximately the same time/distance. Which would be the better choice? Also, any suggestions on where to stop along the way?

I would double check with www.michelin.com for your routing and est time. If you go Northern route Wurzburg is a nice town to stop in altho close to Rothenberg. If you plan to be near Rhine river valley, Bacharach or St Goar are great overnight villages. The driving may be tiring so I hope you will be stopping for more than a meal.

Thanks for the help, we will have plenty of snacks/water. Also, we'll make time to stop along the way. We'll route to the south on A6 & A61. No worries...
James-It really can't be any worse than driving into Yosemite on July 4th. Can it?
