Driving from Lauterbrunnen to zurich via luzern

Is it safe/ cheaper to drive from Lauterbrunnen to zurich via luzern since the rail and drive pass is working out economical for us than the 5 day, 3 country rail pass since there are reservations costs esp for the Eurostar italy ( for our other travel days ).
Ofcourse I have not included the cost of gas and toll and also we will be traveling with our 22 months old baby , we wll have to pay for child seat rental as well...any suggestions?
Thanks!

OK, I don't understand most of your question...

But, I've driven that route in the opposite direction. There are no tolls, and the scenery is incredible. It's just as safe as any other road in Switzerland, provided you don't drive too fast through the Brunigpass.

Sorry I didnt clearly write what I had in my mind. We are 2 adults and a baby.
We have 3country, 6 rail days if were to do eurail select pass
(I need to use the trains via connections I have mentioned below since they are shortest, fastest and direct - we will be with a 22 month old and luggage)

Rail day 1 - Venice to Monterosso via Milan ( Eurostar and Intercity) ..both require 27$ reservation per train per person.

Rail day 2 - Monterosso to Rome with break in Pisa
(Eurostar and Intercity) .both require 27$ reservation per train per person.

Rail day 3- Overnight train from Rome to Interlaken via Spiez - ( Requires additional couchette reservation)

Rail day 4 - Interlaken to Zurich, Break in Luzern.

Rail day 5 - Zurich to Salzburg

Rail day 6 - Salzburg to Veinna

Now I am hoping to rent a car for for Salzburg to vienna, also from interlaken to Zurich or Monterosso to Rome and buy one day point to point ticket for travel in italy from venice to Monterosso.
That way i can make the most out of rail and drive pass for 3 raildays and 2 drive days and buy 1 point to point ticket for travel from venice to 5Terre and avoid paying xtra reservation costs.
I am debating between renting a car in italy vs Driving interlaken to zurich.
It would work out more economical if I rented a car in Italy but the costs for additional child seat defeats the purpose
I hope this is kinda clear..I am also debating whether to buy eurail pass v/s point to point tickets.
Thanks for your help!
