Driving from Cadiz to Granada

Does anyone have favorite spots to stop along the way when driving from Cadiz to Granada. We are planning a couple of days in Ronda. Any other ideas?

I suggest going to Gibraltar. Park on the Spain side and walk across. Walk up the main avenue, take the cable car to the top and check out the caves. They have the Barbary Apes on the rock running free. We watched one take someone's shopping bag from the store there, a tee shirt or hat. Eventually the person got it back but they were sure enjoying the fact the the ape had taken it, so we laughed too. I have this great picture with an ape in the foreground on top of the rock and a giant oil tanker in the background, off in the distance. You can have lunch on the top. In the distance from the top you can see Morocco on a clear day.

Jerez is a nice stop for horses and sherry.

Seville is a must see, but you really need a couple of days there.

Here are a few....
Arcos de la Frontera....one of the white villages....parking just outside the old town, since the rest is impassable to vehicles driven by North Americans! ;)
Gaucin...much nicer, smaller white village....on a clear day, you can see the mountains in North Africa.
Ubrique....the center of leather craftsmanship in Spain.
Zahara de la Sierra.....high up on a hillside just northwest of Ronda....great village to stop for lunch, and the views over the nearby valleys and, if you're in good shape, an interesting Moorish fortress at the top.

Concerning Rohda: My family recently returned from a southern Spain trip, including 3 days in Seville (my favorite Spanish city), followed by a drive and two nights in Ronda, then driving on to Granada, flying to Barcelona, etc. One of our best experiences was a 3 hour horseback ride in Ronda. The guide picked us up at the Parador where we were staying. While my wife and daughter both ride, neither I nor my 13 y/o son have spent any significant time on horseback, yet the experience wes incredible! The cragy landscape around Ronda was gorgeous! It was adventerous, yet perfeectly safe.
