Hi, we will be spending 3 days in Bacharach (2-5 august 2008) and then intend to drive to Prague where we will stay for 3 nights,Any suggestions as to the route we should take from bacharach to Prague, approx how long will it take, are there border checks now that the czech republic is part of the schengen states, ant interesting places we should visit along the way?etcwopuld appreciate any responses.We are hiring a car in Frankfurt Germany.After prague we drive to amsterdam, with a stop in Hannover.thanks

yes.we arrive in frankfurt on 2 aug, drive to bacharach.leave there on 5 aug,drive to prague.leave prague 8 aug, drive to hanover for 1 night and the on to amsterdam for a week.on 16 aug we drive back to frankfurt from Amsterdam!

Make sure that you can take your car from Germany into the Czech Republic. When we rented 2 years ago we were told we could not drive the car into the Czech Republic. I think it had to do with the high probability that the car would be stolen or vandalized. Maybe this has changed though...
