Does anyone know how long this should take me. I'm leaving Amboise around 8am. I have a 5:27 train out of Geneva to Zermatt.

Seven hours, ideally, no matter what any mapping program says. Plus you've got to push to the center of town when traffic will be picking up. Plus you have to turn in the car (have no idea where), plus you need to stop for gas, plus you might have trouble going around Orleans (don't try it any other way or it will take much longer). While you're at it allow a little more time to get up that little road from Amboise to the freeway.
I'd allow nine hours, plus what it takes to get from the car drop to the station and find the train. I speed.
An eight po'clock departure probably won't cut it.

If you have rented a French car, it has to be returned on the French side of the airport--dear spouse went through this, so I would find out the exact location from the rental car company to return it. Then, it's a shuttle to the airport.
