we (family of 2adult/2teens) will be returning to paris on easter monday 04/25/11 (not the best planning) from Sarlat. We are considering driving back? How is traffic into Paris on a holiday? How bad is bad?We will be dropping off the car into gare montparnasse and metro into downtown.

Traffic direction Paris on a holiday weekendto be avoided. It's like trying to get over the Bay Bridge at rush hour but it's not just one bottleneck, but jams all along the route, especially at toll booths, and then bottlenecks as each autoroute coming from the provinces merges with others coming from the provinces, all trying to get through the little openings into Paris. Additionally, the Gare Montparnass is inside Paris. Bad idea.

Laura, Have you ever been to Paris? I would rather have my eyes gouged out than to drive in Paris. That is how bad it can be.

I drove in Paris on a holiday weekend last spring.. buy accident, we were attempting to drop of the car at Orly. I would not recommend driving in Paris, especially coming off of a holiday weekend.
