Drive from Arles to Nice

After spending a few days in Arles we're going to pick up a car on a Monday morning and head for Nice. We have a day/night to kill so we wanted to tour around a bit and spend the night some place on the way, possibly in the Luberon. Anyone have and recommendations?
Thanks

The Luberon isn't really on the way. It's to the northeast and Nice is to the southeast. But it's well worth seeing and, with a rental car, you can enjoy a day in that direction and then get to Nice the next day without too much trouble.

Here's one suggestion. Drive from Arles to Les Baux. Look out from the ramparts and then go down to St. Remy for a late morning coffee or lunch. Drive to Fontsaine des Vaucluse and walk up to the spring.

Come back to Isle sur la Sorgue and spend the night there in whatever hotel is a member of Logis de France. The next morning, drive to the Autoroute du Soleil and make your way to Nice.

Check out the Logis-de-France website, for the Luberon region. These are small family-owned-and-run hotels, all over France. Usually charming, and with on-site parking, we have never been disappointed in a Logis-de-France stay.
