Dresden Hotels - B&B

Hi everybody, I'm looking for an affordable hotel / b&b in Dresden centre(germany). Possible with no steps ( or elevator available).
Any suggestion will be more than welcome.
Thanks and good traveling everybody !

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Dr-Kuelz Ring in the Altstadt, a short walk to the Frauenkirche.
Right now, a lot of days are booked up in December (from Can$ 115/night) but it drops to Can$ 76/night in
January and that includes a great buffet breakfast. Hotel very modern - rooms a bit small. Bathrooms are
gorgeous. Great value here - bookings.com flags the rates as 'Smart deal'!

ric,

What price range are you considering for "affordable"? I'm also planning a visit to Dresden and have been researching hotels, so will try and offer some suggestions later.

Cheers!

I have relatives Dresden, and they got out of town with the SS on their tail. They got on the last ship leaving Hamburg bound for the U.S--again with the SS physically on their tail the night before departure. Arrived at Ellis Island Thanksgiving Day, 1939.

Dresden was at the time one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

I've found the easiest way to find rooms worldwide is to go to Booking.com and sign in by city. Then, I filter the search by price (lowest). I go down the list looking for customer ratings in the 8's and 9's (out of 10.) I've yet to be disappointed with any rooms--especially in Germany. Sometimes I'll double check with TripAdvisor.com to see if they've got any customer recommendations on the property.

And Booking.com has 185 properties listed in Dresden.

Hi - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Kipping a couple of years ago. It's located right by the main train station, but I could walk to the major attractions from there very easily. They had a great breakfast and they did have an elevator. I think I paid about 70 euros as a single person in a double room.

ric,

To follow up on my earlier post, Hotel Kipping that Sandi mentioned is listed in the Guidebook, and is one that I'm considering. It appears to be close to the main station and also close to the main sights, which is typically among the criteria I look for.

Last spring we stayed at the Pullman Dresden Newa for about 75 euros per night. The room was a good size, immaculately clean, and a large buffet breakfast was included. The hotel is a short walk from the Dresden train station, and was located on the pedestrian-only walkway that stretches between the station and the river. There is an elevator.
