I can think of more places than you have days. Do you have a car? If not, trains and bus work good too. It all depends on your interests.

Hi Sam, We are diverse in our interests, I think we'd be happy to see castles, ruins, vineyards, churches, art, agrotourism, perhaps you can offer your top 3 ideas? Thanks! Amy

OK, Lyon is the first stop on the way. Very good food at less-than-Paris prices. Roman amphitheater and ruins above Vieux Lyon as well as great views of the city. Art at the Musee des Beaux-Art. Next stop Beaune: Wine and vineyard tours of Burgundy with ample stops for wine tasting. Learn all about the finer points of burgundy wine. Hotel Dieu for art and history. Next stop Dijon. More wine and the Ducal Palace.
Head to Paris from Dijon on the TGV. It's only an hour and a half away.

Which month will this Wedding occur? How many free days will you actually have? Would you consider a car?

...and how many of those 10 days do you want to spend in Paris? From Lyon, you can easily head down to Provence (Roman antiquities, lavender in season, Luberon hill towns, Provencal culture) or up to Burgundy (stupendous wine scene, castles and abbeys, la France profonde). In 10 days you can even do all of them though it will be rushed.

Thank you all for your help, I think realistically, we are looking to spend maybe 3 days, the trip takes place early July.
