Does anyone know what days the best markets are in this region? Also, in the La Rochelle area, when is the market?

i believe that you will find it in Rick Steve's guide books. We went to Sarlat's last year on a Wednesday and they also have a Saturday market that may be bigger. Great fun!

We did the same and stayed in Sarlat. It was very nice and the market was huge.

Sarlat's Sat market is very nice, and mixed in with all the cafes/restaurants. For La Rochelle: check this website:
