We are looking for a hotel hopefully with nearby parking.
Any web sites would be good.
Have not much luck so far from RS book.
We will be there Sept 7 and 8.
thanks
Stew, I just booked at the Hotel Maestranza, in the neighborhood El centro in Sevilla for the following week. I found the recommendation on RS, Plan Your Trip, RS Guidebooks, Readers Feedback, then pick Spain and Happy Reading. Another day of doing nothing but gathering helpful info b4 your trip! The prices at the Hotel Maestranza range from single min. 41 Euros to triple max. 110 Euros. I got a double bed room for one person 87 Euros, tax included. I do not know abt parking, I'm totally dependent on trains and busses. Have a wonderful trip. I plan to!
Sevilla is crazy driving, we went last summer mid-tourist season and found the best thing to do was park the car in an underground parking lot (most were about 10 euro for the full day) and walk to our hotel. We stayed in a pension in the middle of town, was pricey but had a great location, there was no parking though.
I have only ever stayed in Barrio Santa Cruz which is a wonderful place to stay but only a few of the expensive hotels seem to have parking. Parking is way worse thad driving in Seville. We had an apartment at Xmas, and a car which we left in an underground station on the edge of that area - parking cost is currently 16 euros a day. Train station parking is similar cost. Hotel Alcantara is reasonably priced, as is Hotel Murillo. Hotel Amadeus is a bir more expensive and is very small so often booked out.
I stayed at the Hotel Maestranza and its a clean nice hotel within walking distance to the Cathedral. Prices were quite reasonable (there was a computer with broadband connections in the lobby).
Not so sure about parking -- there didn't seem to be any place to park around the hotel and even the roads to the place is blocked off by posts (that lower when a taxi with a special pass presses a button). It is in the old town which is quite a warren of narrow one-way streets. So I am not even sure that a visitor could drive up to the hotel without some special arrangements.
The closest public parking to the cathedral that I can think of is in the Pza. Gavida/Pza. Duque next to the Corte Inglés (ask anybody in town for directions). Navigating in Seville is a nightmare until one knows the town well, and as we have commentated, parking is even worse. To top things off, a major renovation is underway to "prepare" the city for a subway. Personally, I'd recommend parking the car and enjoying the city's walkability.
