Do you fly out of Orly to the states? I think we really wasted alot of time

After just returning from Paris yesterday, I thought as I stood (90 minutes with delays... and no place to sit) on the RER-B from central Paris to CDG, wow, Orly is only 2 stops away from Luxembourg gardens... CDG is 14. Four hours after leaving the hotel, as we flew over southern Paris, I looked down and saw Orly pass under us. And I thought, wow, I think we really wasted alot of time and back muscles flying out of CDG this morning. Anyone think the same?

Roissy tends to have more flights and for some reason tends to cost a bit less. Both airports take real close to the same time to get to from the middle of the city. The current weekend construction slow-down on the northern end of RER B will end sometime, making the question moot as far as time goes.

JP, The only airline that uses Orly is the all business airline, but it leaves only from NY or DC. Orly isn't by any means only two stops, but it is closer. It's unfortunate you had this uncomfortable experience to cap off what was probably a fabulous vacation.

Yes, unfortunately Orly (which I do normally find easier/quicker to get to) just isn't an option for us transatlantic types . .. Reminds me of flying home via DFW. You basically fly over Tulsa, and I'm always thinking, if I could just parachute out now, I'd be home while knowing I still have 20-30 minutes of flying time to Dallas, plus an hour's layover, plus 40 more minutes or so of flying before I'll be back at that spot. But Orly is great for travel within Europe!
