I will be in Munich and Salzburg during early October do they have leaf changing colors in October or is it earlier in late September.

We arrived in Frankfurt in very late October and after picking up rental car made a wrong turn and drove through the most gorgeous forest of yellow leafed trees. From there we headed on to Burg Eltz and the foliage there was exquisite as well.

We were at Neuschwanstein in mid-October and the trees had some very nice fall colors. Like in the US, the colors can't really be predicted too far in advance. They start based on weather.
