I'm planning a trip to Paris this May after being there in 2009. I have half a carnet of unused tickets for the Paris Metro from my previous trip. Does anyone know if these might still be usable? Mike
My leftovers go in the junk box and get jumbled with everything else. I'll bet some have worked that were at least two or three years old, maybe older.
I always bring home unused tickets and thus far no problems using these tickets. In the near future Paris wants to get rid of the tickets as they litter the metro's and the streets just outside the metro's.
They will be usable with one exception: if price of the ticket in the meantime went up.
Thanks, everyone. I'll pack them! (Here's hoping that "near future" isn't before June...) :)
Actually, it depends on how old they are. I had some leftovers that I had had sitting around in my "foreign money jar" for a good 10 years (what can I say? I'm a packrat). Took them back to Paris and no, they did not work. I was not completely shocked. Worth a try, though - at least they're not heavy! Note to self: be sure to get back to Paris more frequently, so those leftover carnet tickets still work. :)
