Does anyone have any idea of the distance between the cruise terminals and the airport? We're trying to decide whether to stay one night near the port so we are near the cruise terminals if it's quite a distance away. If we need an inexpensive hotel near the port, does anyone have suggestions?

I'm sorry, I forgot to say the Oceania cruise terminal from BCN airport. We'll fly in/out of BCN.

Go to the title at the top of the page marked "boards" and it then breaks down into pages just like this helpline. Check under Oceana cruise lines or further down check under countries for Spain. Should be able to find your answer there. Or just register to join the site [for free] and then post a question. Lots of great advice over there re cruising and also places to visit etc

The cruise terminals start at the foot of the Ramblas and spread south from there. So if you're downtown, Placa Catalunya and anywhere down the Ramblas, you're only a 15 minute cab ride from the docks. From the airport, it's under half an hour, costing about 30 Euro. There are shuttle buses that run from across from the Christopher Columbus monument at the foot of the Ramblas that are supposed to be coordinated with ship arrivals and departures, but to be on the safe side, I'd just grab a cab. I'll leave it to others to give you some hotel suggestions,if you feel it's necessary to stay there the night before.
