Dining in Paris, Eiffel Tower area?

Hello, all! I'll be traveling to Paris in the spring, and I'd love to have some restaurant recommendations for tasty, budget-friendly restaurants in the 7th, near the Eiffel tower. Many thanks!

Au Bon Accuiel - (Sp?)....... Close to Eiffel Tower, very good food, very popular with followers of Rick. La Fontaine de Mars - (Sp?)....... President & Mrs. Obama had "date night" here early in his Presidency. Cafe du Marche/Tribeca...... owned by the same people, I like the confit de canard at Cafe du Marche, but prefer the "vibe" at Tribeca....... All these are in Rick's books, food and service has been good at each, Cafe du Marche is cheapest...... but there's lots of other places not listed in Rick's books that are also good. Best place I ate at in Paris is now closed, they went into the catering business....... but it was tiny, off on a small street, no sign advertising it's presence - just the address plaque - foodie friend of ours recommended it to us......

Thanks, Jeff! I'll definitely put these on my list.

Sorry, I misread your post -- Au Bon and La Fontaine are NOT budget-friendly - they are splurges......... Cafe du Marche is more budget-friendly than Tribeca...... but the food is good, a decent mix of Americans/Parisians.........

Jeff,
I'm glad to have some "splurgier" recommendations, too. I always try to have one "blow it out" evening, with a good meal and a trip to the theatre or ballet while traveling. These look like really good choices. Thanks again!

Chez Germaine. Not right next door to the Tower. either a nice stroll or a metro ride. 30 Rue Pierre Leroux 7th arr. Cafe Carlu is a modern self serve cafe in the Cite de Architecture . Located on the Trocadero it boasts a small menu of sandwiches, quiches, and salads. In spring and sumer the outdoor terrace and enjoy the magnifique views of the La Tour Effel. 1 Place du Trocadero, 16th arr. Lastly, in the 7th but closer to the D'Orsay museum is one of the best boulangeries in Paris. Eric Kayser. For 8.50 euros the lunch deal of a sandwich, pastry, soft drink or coffee is a bargain.
18 rue du Bac, 7th arr. have a wonderful visit.

Pamela, I'm not sure any of these are "budget friendly", but a few restaurants you might have a look at.... > Café du Marche (as suggested in previous replies) - this seems to be quite popular, as it's usually packed. > Café Central (across from du Marche) - I've had a few meals there, and they were always good. > Café Roussillon (down the street) - the food and service always good (in my experience). > Le Bosquet - this is the one shown on Rick's TV show, where Arnaud is teaching Rick the "fine art" of Parisian dining and the proper way to eat Steak Tartare. I've only dined there once, and on that occasion the food was good but the service dreadful! I vowed that I'd never set foot in the place again, but I may yet give them another try. Here's a short video of the "dining experience". > Le Terrasse - close to the Metro stop. Our RS tour group enjoyed a fine dinner there one night, and the food was great. Bon Voyage!
