Want to go to Burgundy area 2 or 3 days May 16-18. First problem is just getting there. We will be at Interlaken Switzerland and am having significant problems finding any train connections to Beaune or Dijon without a lot of connections that seem to be out of the way.
Right now just getting to Burgundy is the problem. Will worry about hotel and specific sites next. After Burgundy we are headed to London and expect the train is best but can't look at that option till I know where we are going in Burgundy. Thanks in advance for any help.
From what I'm seeing on www.bahn.de, the train from Interlaken West to Dijon Ville has 1 change in Basel and takes 3:23 hrs. The train from Interlaken West to Beaune has 2 changes (in Basel and Dijon) and takes 3:52 hours. It's only about a 20 minute train ride from Dijon to Beaune, so if you base yourself in Dijon, Beaune would make a very easy day trip. From Dijon to London it looks like about a 5-5 ½ hour train ride. Sounds like a fun trip!
Frequent local train service between Beaune and Dijon, about a 20-min ride.
