Den Haag to Geneve

Hi I will be travelling to Geneve from Den Haag in February with my partner and dog. Can anyone advise as to the best and cheapest route. I have a discount card for the Netherlands which they take into account when booking. Also is it cheaper to buy tickets for each step of the journey. What about overnight trains or are dogs not allowed? Thanks

http://www.nshispeed.nl/en/before-you-go/transporting-pets If you want to do this as a night train, take the City Nightline train direct to Basel from either Amsterdam, Utrecht, or Arnhem. Depart Amsterdam at 20:31, arrives Basel 6:54 am. At Basel there are frequent trains to Geneva.
As a daytime journey take the ICE 105 train from AMS/Utrect/Arnhem direct to Basel. Departs Amsterdam at 8:04 am, arrive at Basel 14:47. Book tickets at: http://www.citynightline.ch

I travel all over Europe on trains with my dog and have had not problem although I have never travelled with him in a sleeper carriage. You may find that you will need proof of vaccination against rabies before entering another European country and that he has been treated for ticks and fleas.
