I am interested in deluxe hotel in Budapest for 2 nights in May and would like to know the best location to be able to walk to most sites.
I stayed five nights at the Kempinski Corvinus on Erzsebet ter, in Pest, which is very close to Andrassy ut (a grand boulevard that runs up to City Park). The opera and lots of restaurants are on Andrassy. The metro stop "Deak ter" is on the same block as the hotel...Deak ter and Erzsebet ter seem to be one! This metro stop is a major one that connects several lines.
Very nice, although perhaps not deluxe, is the K&K Opera Hotel. It is located very near to the Opera and both are next to the metro that runs out to the zoo and the baths. St. Stephen's is a short walk. We found some good restaurants there. We were five nights in Budapest - did fine using just the metro and walking.
I am contemplating the Boscolo. Has anyone stayed here?
TripAdvisor.com or Frommers.com would be good resources.

E-mail: [email protected] Took a cab into town. We were there only one night. Had a great dinner at a local restaurant per recommendation by the hotel. Includes a hearty breakfast buffet. Very clean, staff was friendly. One of the elevators did break down. Minor hassle. Exterior looked old and pretty cool with the inside very modern. Have fun.
