Kent, We are visiting Geneva and also Paris, France. Thanks for the information. I checked the website and it is cold.

Being a Californian born gal myself, you'll find yourself pretty cold over here. Get some thick socks and double up (I wear a thinner warm pair with an Alpaca knitted sock over), thermal insulated boots, a 3 in one type jacket, scarves (winter ones), hats and gloves (full golves, not just kitted ones), and thick sweaters (you can limit space by packing lots of undershirts and rewearing the same couple sweaters). If you plan on strolling outdoors at all, as you might among the Christmas markets, consider wearing silkweight long underwear. If you can't find such things, just plan on spending a day shopping when you get there and consider them nice souveniers. :)
