December in Switzerland

My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Switzerland early to mid-December. It will be a 9-day trip and we are hoping to get a mix of the ski-resort/alps and some of the city sights. I have been reading the Switzerland Guidebook and it mentions a lot of things to do in each of the cities, but some of them don't seem feasible in the winter. Thus my question is, what would you recommend doing for a "city-perspective" in the winter, for example Bern or Luzern and various attractions that might be fun and kinda romantic? Also, Berner Oberland seems to be the place to be in the ski-area, but if I only want to ski for a day or two, what should I do for the other three days?

I love Switzerland and I love skiing. But, if I were someone that only wanted to ski a day or two, I'd reconsider a 9 day trip to Switzerland in the winter. But if you can't... It sounds like you've learned that Switzerland's cities in winter don't have enough to keep you happily occupied. In that case, consider flying into another big city that is great year round (ie Paris), taking the train to the B-O, and flying out of Zurich. I've trained between Paris and Murren and it's perfectly reasonable (get the TGV, rather than the slow train).
