Day Trips to Tangier nad/or Gibraltar.

Is it better for me to take daily tour from either Seville or Malaga/Marbella to go to Tangier (one day) and to Gibraltar (one day)? In addition, it is possible to take one-day tour from eitehr Seville or Malaga?Marbella to go to Gibraltar, then go on to Tangier? On the other hand, is it good thing to do to rent a car from eitehr Seville or Malaga to drive to Gibraltar, then to Tarifa (ferry to Tangier)? Please help me for the three questions below, and I plan to take my trip to Spain during the month of 7/2013. I have 6 days/5 nights for Seville/Malaga/Marbella.

I would suggest to spend a day in Tarifa and take the ferry from there to Tangier. the claim is it takes only 35 minutes. Tarifa is a cute beach town with an old section and lots of sandy beach with lots of kitesurfers, rentals available. if you go to Gibraltar, don't drive in, as it seems to take 90 minutes or more to get back to Spain. you might want to rent the car in Sevilla to give you more freedom and not do a daily tour. I thought the roads were well posted with directions for towns and major roads. have fun!

Hi Emilie, Thank you very much for your reply. I have modified my plan: 1. I decide not to go to Tangier.
2. I will take the daily trips to Granaa and Gibraltar from Malaga. From this new plan, wouldyou think that I should rent a car from Malaga to go to Granada, and Gibraltar? The cost of dailty trip from Malaga to Ginraltar tour is $56 x 2 = 113, and from Malaga to Granada (including Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens is 100 x 2= 200. With this estimate costs, would you think we can save $$ by renting the car, and go by ourself (Total tikets is 20 Euro for each person).

Hi Michael, check prices on car rentals, a daily rate may not save any money but a weekly rate would. there is easy parking at the Alhambra but I don't know the hourly rate. The benefit of being on your own in the Alhambra would be you could stay as long as you like and not have to "keep up" with the group. Trains or buses might be an idea instead of renting a car. You have enough time to tweak your plans.
