Day Trips from Paris to the Wine country

We will be staying in Paris for 7 days at the end of March and first week of April. We would like to take a day trip to one of the many wine areas. Any suggestions?

Kathy:

The closest wine area to Paris is the Champagne region east of the Paris metroplex.

Reims and Eparnay are the main towns with many tours and tastings available.

You can do this as a day trip from Paris but you would be pushing it.

We had the kids with us in 2004 and we were staying in Noisy (right by Disneyland Paris)which is on the east end of the Paris metroplex. We did a day trip to Eparnay from there - it was a fun (but long) day.

We loved our tour of the operations and the caves at Moet-Chandon (where Dom Perignon comes from).

I hope this helps. Have fun.

I read a post the other day that said you can get to Reims, from Paris, in 45 min on the TGV. That makes it an easy day trip I think.
