We leave in a month for a trip to Copenhagen, Prague and Munich and I'm looking to rent a car and get out into the Bavarian countryside on our last day. Do you have any suggestions for some great day trips if we plan to leave Munich early in the morning and then plan to return to Munich in time for dinner that evening? We've never driven in Germany before and have always done train travel so I think it will be fun to change it up. We've been to Neushwanstein before, but will likely at least do a quick visit there again but not go inside this time as we will have our 4.5 year old with us. We're looking for scenic views and charming towns. I'm having trouble deciding between everything out there since we only have 1 day to explore outside the city, so any tips/advice is definitely appreciated!
