We are staying with relatives just outside Basel for six days in June. We have been to Switzerland many times and done all the tourist things. We must rely on the train for travel. Wondering if anyone has any ideas? Thanks.

How about heading into France to explore the Alsace region? The Ecomusee d'Alsace in Ungersheim is not very far either.

How about Triberg in the southern Black Forest, or the Rhein falls in Schafhausen? Some people like Freiburg. Another place in the Black Forest, outside of Freiburg is Titisee. Farther east is Singen and beyond that the Bodensee (Mainau, Konstanz).
