We want to spend a day trip from Paris. Is Troyes a good destination? Can't find any information on Troyes.

Hi! Bets The reason I mentioned Troyes is because of a book my husband and I have read called Life in A Medieval City by Joseph & Frances Gies. It is about life in Troyes during the 12th & 13th century. It is a great read. Thanks for the reply. We definitely will make this side trip. We have been to Paris many times, but have signed up for Rick Steves ONE-WEEK IN PARIS TOUR in November. Thought it would be great fun. We will be arriving several days before the tour and several days in Avignon before returning home. Now have to figure out side trips from Avignon. Lots of great choices.

Troyes is a great place for a short trip. Sound slike it's a day trip for you, but if you do plan to stay, check out: http://www.hotelarlequin.com/. We stayed there about 10 years ago and loved it. It's right in the center, and there's a great bakery next door. At least there was 10 years ago.
