We will be in Paris for a few days in December and are considering a day trip to Strasbourg as I have heard the Christmas Decorations are incredible. Has anyone who has done this recommend it. i understand the train ride is 2 hours 20 mins which is sort of long. Also, is it a pricey ticket?

Depending upon the time of day, the standard 2nd class fare ranges from 69.50 to 86 euros each way. However, if you book far enough in advance (up to three months allowed) at www.tgv-europe.com, you can get a discount fare as low as 22 euros each way.
