Can anyone recommend a tour company that is good for walking tours of Madrid or day trips to Toledo? We had an amazing walking tour in Germany but I am not finding the volume of reviews on the ones in Spain. Suggestions for guides/tours/etc?

Take a look at www.madridman.com. He recommends several tours in Madrid and surrounds. The website was recommended by Rick Steves, too.

David, Last year, we used the inexpensive guided tours offered through Madrid Tourist Office located in Plaza Mayor. This is part of 'The Discover Madrid' programme they promote. We found them very informative and the guides knowledgeable, and I would highly recommend them, especially for the reasonable price charged. They do offer several tours daily if I remember correctly. Unfortunately I cannot offer any help with Toldeo.

I, too, can recommend Letango Spain Tours. And, as mentioned above, they are Rick Steves' local partner/agent/contact in Madrid. The married couple started the company; a Spanish bilingual guy and an American bilingual woman. They get good reviews. Do a Rick Steves search to find out more about them from the man himself.
